Founded by Beth Gerstein and Eric Grossberg, Brilliant Earth is based in San Francisco and began operations in 2005. They specialize in creating and selling wedding rings made with conflict-free and ethically sourced diamonds and recycled metals.
Beyond Conflict-Free Diamonds
All of Brilliant Earth's wedding rings contain diamonds that have been mined following the "Beyond Conflict Free" statutes as established by Brilliant Earth. Brilliant Earth has mandated that their diamonds cannot have been used to finance rebel movements or civil war. The mines these diamonds come from must protect their workers from human rights abuses and offer safe and responsible labor practices. The mines must also work to minimize environmental degradation and support community development. Brilliant Earth will only work with mines that respect these guidelines.
Wedding Ring Designs and Styles
Brilliant Earth constructs their wedding rings with recycled metals, including 14k and 18K white, rose, yellow gold, and platinum. Additionally, customers can request that rings made of palladium.
Customers have the option of choosing a wedding ring with diamonds or blue, pink, or yellow sapphires. Clients also have the option of picking the exact diamond or sapphire they want in their ring, as well as the cut. Brilliant Earth provides the origin of each individual diamond, so customers will know precisely where the diamond they choose comes from.
Brilliant Earth also has a wide selection of lab-created synthetic diamonds. These diamonds have the same characteristics as real diamonds. They are available in both colorless and colored forms. Additionally, they have a selection of wedding rings made with the gemstone moissanite. Moissanite has a unique colored sparkle and is composed of carbon silicate.
Wedding Bands
In our Brilliant Earth Review, we found many different wedding band styles to choose from. From plain bands to diamond embedded bands to bands with metal scrolling and leaf designs.
When it comes to wedding band options, the styles offered included smooth gold or platinum bands, matte bands, or brushed metal, or hammered bands. There are also Celtic knot bands, bands studded with channel set diamonds, and bands with printed metalwork. Furthermore, couples who want matching wedding rings have a variety of options to choose from.
Brilliant Earth also offers custom-designed wedding rings. Couples can design a ring on Brilliant Earth's website using their "design your own ring" tool. Alternatively, they can choose to work with Brilliant Earth's design team for a one-of-a-kind custom wedding ring.

If you're looking for something "old," then Brilliant Earth's selection of authentic antique wedding rings is a great option. They offer rings and bands from the Victorian age up to the Retro era, providing a vast selection of one-of-a-kind jewelry to choose from. Additionally, these rings have the benefit of being eco-friendly.
What You'll Pay
Prices for wedding rings range from under $500 to above $3000. However, the majority of ring prices range from between $1500 and $5000. Although, if you have a larger budget, you can choose large carat diamond wedding rings in the $10,000 and up range.
Prices also vary depending on the diamond you select, its grade, and its carat size.
The antique wedding ring collection ranges in price from $1000 to over $10,000.
The Shipping Policy
Brilliant Earth offers free FedEx shipping for every U.S., Canadian, Australian, and U.K. order. They also provide free return shipping for all orders.
In general, Brilliant Earth makes items to order, so delivery time varies depending on the item ordered. Most orders will arrive before or on the expected delivery date given in the order confirmation email. However, some orders could come earlier than the scheduled delivery date. Customers will receive an email confirmation when their order ships.
To protect their customers, Brilliant Earth insures and registers all purchases for their total value. They also require that deliveries be made to a physical business or home address. They do not ship to P.O. boxes.
Customers should also note that custom processes and import fees are the responsibility of the customer. Fortunately, other than GST/PST/HST, there are no additional import duties for orders shipped to Australia or Canada. If the order is being sent to the U.K., Brilliant Earth will collect the related duties for each order.
The Return Policy
Brilliant Earth provides a complimentary 30-day return for any purchase. This means that if you're not happy with your wedding ring, you can exchange it for something else or get a refund within 30 days after purchase. Additionally, they also offer a complimentary ring resizing, with free shipping both ways.
